Our 2nd Annual Dance-A-Thon, Hawk Thon 2017, is a 12 hour event that will take place on Friday, March 24th (7pm) and go through Saturday, March 25th (7am.) at Armstrong Junior Senior High School. Students in grades 9-12 form groups of 10-15 and spend the night dancing- which leads to tons of fun while also raising money for the children selected as recipients for the donations raised at Hawk Thon 2017. Yes, you read that correctly. This year there will be multiple families receiving the money raised. We asked STUCO members to nominate children they thought could benefit and we were given four names. The STUCO officers and Hawk Thon co-chairs agreed--- How can we pick just one? Instead we will raise money in honor of all and divide it among the families.
The proceeds from Hawk Thon 2017 will be donated to Belle Bisping, Layten Bowser, Toby Collins, and Noah Anthony. These local children are all facing various medical battles and their families are humbled to be our focus for Hawk Thon. Many of you are probably already familiar with these children and their stories, but if you would like to have further information, feel free to contact the STUCO advisors and they can share details the families have provided.
Any community member is welcome to make a donation to this event, buy a t-shirt to wear in support of the event, or do both! The theme is "Tied Together"---represented with tie-dyed shirts and showing that all of these students are tied together with our community. If you would like to purchase a shirt or make a donation, please contact us.
